    The Linux Server Professional (LPIC-1 102) course will help candidates preparing for the LPIC 102 exam, which is the second out of 2 LPI exams candidates have to take to obtain the certificate. The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) has established itself as the standard for distribution independent Linux certification. LPI offers three levels of certification: LPI 1, LPI 2 and LPI 3. LPI 1 is the base level certification that is looked for by professionals that want to validate their skills on Linux but not to one specific Linux distribution.

    Managing User and Group Accounts In this lesson the student learns how user and group accounts are used in a Linux environment and how these accounts can be managed.

    Configuring Security This lesson teaches how different network and user-based security settings can be applied.

    Scheduling Jobs In this lesson, the student learns how tasks and jobs can be scheduled using at and cron.

    Maintaining System Time Linux stores time in different ways. In this lesson, the student learns about the different locations where time is stored and how these relate to one another.

    Configuring System Logging In this lesson, the student learns how to configure system logging. The (r) Syslog service is explained, as well as the systemd journal and log rotate.

    Configuring Networking This lesson introduces networking in general and teaches how to configure network interfaces with fixed or permanent network configurations.

    Managing MTA Basics
    This lesson provides a basic overview of MTA working. It teaches students how to configure a system to send outgoing mail to a relay host.

    Using SSH In this lesson, the student learns how to use ssh and related commands. Advanced SSH usage is also covered, including configuration parameters, working with SSH keys and SSH port forwarding.

    11. Customizing and Writing Shell Scripts This lesson provides an introduction to Linux shell scripting. At the end of this lesson, the student will be able to read bash shell scripts and write shell scripts using common structures for himself.

    Accessibility and Internationalization This lesson explains how to configure Linux for increased accessibility, and for use in international environments.

    This lesson teaches learners how to set up a simple SQL database.
    • This course is for IT staff that want to acquire Linux skills.
    • Typical functions for attendees of this course include support staff and junior system administration.
